Rated 94/100 by Parker, the 2020 red Château Mangot Saint-Emilion Grand Cru is a little beauty. Driven by radiant Merlot, it now delivers pure, vibrant juice, with black cherry and rose aromas, perfectly framed by silky tannins. Vinification:

Hand harvested by plot. De-stemming, pre-fermentation cold maceration, gentle vinification in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats for 4 weeks. Aged 13 to 15 months 20% in amphorae, 10% in stainless-steel vats, 70% in barrels (30% new), 20% of one wine, 20% of 2 wines. Bottled at the château 18 to 20 months after harvest.

Color:

Crimson red, with beautiful intensity and brilliance.

Nose:

Fruity aromas of burlat cherry, wild berries and blood orange, underlined by floral notes of rose petals.

Palate:

On a medium-bodied structure, the tannins of this wine are supple and velvety, offering pure, precise juice on a persistent finish.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Herb-crusted prime rib, Sisteron leg of lamb, rack of veal with chanterelle mushrooms, roast duck with foie gras, marcassin jig, porcini ravioli.

Château Mangot is one of the standout values of Saint-Emilion!
