Wine:

The 2022 red Saumur-Champigny La Marginale is the most classic Cabernet Franc in Thierry Germain's range. Beautifully matured in wood to soften the dense, brilliant substance of the vintage, it delivers with vigor, cut for aging, in an assertive terrien register. A radiant Cabernet Franc, magnificently aged in the cellar.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, sorted, fermented in wooden vats with very light pumping over, maceration for 18 to 22 days, aged for 12 months in 228-l barrels and round casks.

Certified organic and biodynamic wine.

Color:

Intense, brilliant garnet.

Nose:

A nose of red fruit flavors, mentholated nuances, spices and floral scents.

Palate:

Powerful and straightforward, this wine offers good structure with its fruity flavors and a touch of acidity. The finish is rich and clean. Splendid!

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C. (Decant if necessary).

Food and wine pairing:

Prime rib of beef, lamb chops marinated in Espelette chilli, oxtail à la cuillère, quail confit and boiled potatoes.
