A plot-based cuvée produced in small quantities, the 2020 red Côte Rôtie Neve is a pure Syrah from a special terroir, a schist and micaschist hillside in the commune of Ampuis, with south-southeast exposure. Combining structure and finesse with sublime intensity, it abounds in black fruit, graphite and spice aromas, in a powerful, rich and precise body.Vinification:
Hand-harvested, 100% de-stemmed, vinified in crude concrete vats, alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, vatting for 4 to 5 weeks with regular pumping-over at the start of maceration, followed by a few punchings of the cap, maceration with work on the lees for the last 3 weeks, aged in 228-liter Burgundy barrels (25% new) for 14 to 18 months, depending on the vintage.Certified organic and biodynamic wine.
