The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine An exceptional winemaker admired by Robert Parker, René Rostaing excels in Ampuis on the finest terroirs of the appellation. His modesty is matched only by his talent, enchanting wine lovers around the world with the quality of his wines, which embody timeless classicism.
Wine Les Lézardes Red 2018, crafted from young Syrah vines at Domaine Rostaing, brings together vineyards adjacent to the Côte Rôtie appellation. Its deep purple hue leads to an elegant nose featuring red berry aromas and violet notes, with a subtle smoky hint upon aeration. The palate is flavorful and generous, offering a medium-bodied structure that serves as a wonderful introduction to the estate's wines. A wine for immediate enjoyment.
Vinification Hand harvested from young vines on the estate, partial destemming of around 60% of the harvest, fermentation in stainless steel vats for 4 to 5 weeks with regular pumping over, aged for just under 11 months in demi-muids, 5 to 10% of which are new.
