The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A world-class winemaker and a Robert Parker favorite, René Rostaing is a master of Ampuis’s finest terroirs. His quiet demeanor is matched only by his talent, crafting wines of pure classicism that captivate enthusiasts around the world.

With limited production and soaring demand, his wines are available only by allocation and sell out quickly. Whether from the prestigious appellations of Côte Rôtie and Condrieu or his IGP cuvées, Rostaing’s wines consistently deliver unwavering quality and undeniable charm, winning over collectors and amateurs alike.
Wine Marked by fresh, expressive aromas, the 2020 IGP Collines Rhodaniennes Les Lézardes Red is a pure, well-crafted Syrah from the estate’s young vines. Red and black berry notes, gentle spices, and a sleek, juicy texture are framed by firm yet lively tannins, all balanced by the richness and harmony of the vintage. Everything comes together for immediate enjoyment, but this wine also has depth and the structure to age gracefully for a few more years.
Vinification Hand harvested from young vines on the estate, approximately 60% of the grapes are partially destemmed, fermented in stainless steel vats for 4 to 5 weeks with regular pumping over, aged for just under 11 months in demi-muids, 5 to 10% of which are new.
