Domaine Albert Morot - Beaune 1er Cru - Toussaints - Rouge - 2021

Wine:

A perfect model of a 1er cru, adorned with an abundance of rose and black cherry notes supported by restrained ageing, the 2021 red Beaune 1er cru Toussaints expresses itself with lightness and finesse. Its suave tannins and present woodiness, which will gradually become integrated, form a well-defined, highly controlled whole that's already very tasty. A model pinot noir from Beaune.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, sorted on the vine and in the winery. Plot size 0.77 ha, planted in 1969. Traditional vinification in open vats, 100% destemmed grapes, no yeasting, 100% indigenous yeasts, one punching down or pumping over/day. Aged 14 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new, slow malolactic fermentation, no racking, bottled by gravity without fining or filtration.

Bright vermilion red.

Nose:

Abundant notes of rose and black cherry

Palate:

Light and delicate, with ripe fruit, smooth tannins and a woodiness that will gradually integrate, this wine forms a well-defined whole, highly controlled and already very tasty.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Roast partridge with chanterelle mushrooms, seven o'clock lamb, forest terrine.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2028, and even longer for enthusiasts.

As a reliable producer of intensely Burgundian wines, Domaine Albert Morot is now experiencing a spectacular resurgence. We will highlight this renaissance in our upcoming magazine, Racines#8.

Cultivated organically, these wines boast energetic and sappy textures, with juicy fruit, and are crafted for aging, expressing their full potential at around ten years.
