Joseph Drouhin - Rully - Rouge - 2022

Wine:

The 2022 Red Rully offers the perfect ripe Pinot Noir profile from the lovely 2022 vintage, with great purity and abundant fruit. The ageing is well integrated, enveloping a fleshy frame, quite dense but remaining fresh and precise. A lovely bottle to enjoy over the next few years; a little aeration in a decanter or a large glass would be welcome.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, totally de-stemmed, macerated for 1 to 2 weeks and fermented by vertical or pneumatic pressing.
Aged in barrels, 15 to 20% of which are new, for 10 to 14 months.

Color:

Intense, brilliant red with carmine highlights.

Nose:

After aeration, the profile is pure, with abundant fruit notes and a masterful touch of wood.

Palate:

Precise and full-bodied, this fresh wine offers sapid, beautifully ripe juice.

Temperature:

Decant or serve in large glasses, between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Red tuna carpaccio, roasted Bresse poularde, aged Normandy camembert.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2029, and even longer for enthusiasts.
